Hi Everyone, Even though I have the good fortune to be in Florida for the next couple of weeks, guess what...it's raining here! Still, only a momentary aberration as I should be golfing in the seventies (temperature and score with any luck) by the weekend.
I had a really interesting day at the humungous PGA Show in Orlando, with all the latest equipment and technology that is on offer this season on view. On the PING stand there was an opportunity to meet and have a picture with double Masters champion Bubba Watson, however the queue was round the block as they say here. So I opted for the next best thing which was to meet a man who had been a runner-up in a Masters, Chris DiMarco. He is promoting a new training aid called the slot machine, so I snapped up one of those and look forward to trying it out with some of you when I get back. In the meantime have a look on www.golfslotmachine.com as he has some good tips on the swing and the path the good players use. As a bit of trivia, the famous chip shot that Tiger holed on the 16th at Augusta was on route to getting into a play-off with Chris, who also ran him a close second at Hoylake that same year. He is a very nice chap and does a great deal for charity raising several million dollars for children with cancer. Tour News
Rickie Fowler looks like he is keen to change the big three to the big four! An impressive win in Abu Dhabi leaving Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson in his wake means he has won four times in less than a year. He is definitely going to feature at some stage in one of my tips to win a Major this year. The only questionable thing about him is his dress sense (cue picture) and these Hi Top shoes (boots to you and I) with joggers (aka drainpipes) Although I am viewing through 50-year-old eyes, so I suppose this is the way forward fashion-wise...
Hopefully your highs will outweigh your lows this week on the course.
